Porsche-themed mountain outing
This mountain outing was conceived in 2020 and inspired the influx of Porsches at our home track during a Porsche Club of America weekend at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.
That first year, we had a special car join us. THE 930 Turbo that was gifted to THE Peter Gregg from Porsche to convince him to race Porsches again after dominating the field in the iconic BMW 3.0 CSL. A beautiful white example found and restored by his son, Simon Gregg. Before the car departed our facility and headed for a world tour to be displayed at various Porsche Classic and Porsche Experience Center locations, we were lucky enough to have it join us for the inaugural Carreras & Crepes.
Since then, the outing has only gotten better. The Galloping Galette provides a private dining room, opening an hour early just for our group, and puts the crepes in “Carreras & Crepes”. These are not only the most authentic French crepes and galettes on this side of the pond, but the owner is also a crazed enthusiast just like us!
After a scenic and spirited drive into the North Georgia Mountains, we find ourselves on a private Porsche collection tour from the owner the the prestigious Wolf Mountain Winery. Making this the perfect destination for the mountain outing. A private lunch combined with a wine tasting made for a liesure rest time before additional driving time on some of the best roads in North Georgia.
